In many cases, Office 365 and Office 2016 activate automatically. If you’re not prompted to activate, you can start using Office right away.
If Office needs to be activated, you’ll see one of the screens below. In most cases, you must be connected to the Internet to activate Office.
If you see “Sign in to set up Office”
You must be an active, registered student of Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi, and you need to know your login username and password to activate Office.
Select Sign in and follow the prompts.
If you see Try, Buy, and Activate
Office is installed as an Office 365 Home Trial.
Click on Activate and use your Awanuiārangi login details to activate your copy of Office.
If you see options to start a trial, buy Office, or enter a product key
Office is installed as an Office 365 Home Trial.
You may need to install Office properly, by clicking here and following the guide to install Office on your computer.
If you see “Office is included on this PC”
Office is installed as a one-year subscription or one-time purchase.
Click on Activate and use your Awanuiārangi login details to activate your copy of Office.
If you see “Hello, let’s activate Office”
Office is installed as a one-year subscription or one-time purchase.
Click on Activate Office and use your Awanuiārangi login details to activate your copy of Office.
If you see “Hi. Let’s get your Office”
Click on Sign in and use your Awanuiārangi login details to download and activate your copy of Office.
If you see the Activation wizard
If you install Office 365 or Office 2016 yourself, Office should activate automatically. You will only see this prompt if Office needs your help to activate.
Activate the software ‘over the internet’, follow the prompts and use your Awanuiārangi login details to activate your copy of Office.
If you see the Activate Office screen
If you install Office 365 or Office 2016 yourself, Office should activate automatically. You will only see this prompt if Office needs your help to activate.
Follow the prompts and enter your Awanuiārangi email address and password details to activate Office.
If you see the Enter your product key screen
Select Sign in with an active account instead and use your Awanuiārangi login details to activate your copy of Office.
